Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The Service is free to use, with no account required. We may show limited advertising in the future to cover hosting costs.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Open the app and start adding players immediately.
Where is my tournament data stored?
Entirely in your browser, using localStorage. Nothing is uploaded. If you clear your browser storage or switch browsers/devices, the data will not carry over.
What if I close the tab by accident?
Your data is saved automatically after every change. Reopen the app and click Resume Tournament. The app will also warn you before closing if a tournament is in progress.
How are pairings generated?
Round 1 uses a random shuffle. Subsequent rounds pair players with similar match-point totals while trying to avoid rematches. Odd-player counts are handled with an automatic bye to a player who has not yet received one.
How are tie-breaks calculated?
Players are ranked first by match points (3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss), then by Opponent Win Percentage (OWP) with a 25% floor per opponent. This matches common TCG tournament conventions.
Can I edit a result after submitting?
Yes. Use the Previous Round button in the round view. The app will rewind to the previous round with its results pre-filled so you can correct and re-submit.
I lost my data. Can I recover it?
The Advanced Recovery view lets you rebuild a tournament by re-entering the roster and the results of each completed round. The app then recomputes match points, OWP, and generates the next round’s pairings so you can resume play.
Can I run it on a phone?
Yes, the layout is responsive. For a large venue, we recommend Projector Mode (giant timer, high-contrast pairings) on a laptop or TV. For quick score entry at multiple tables, use Compact Mode — it fits up to 16 tables on a single screen.
Can I download the final standings?
Yes. The standings view has a Download as Image button that captures a PNG you can share.
What about the Lucky Wheel?
The wheel is for prize draws. You can type names manually or sync from your tournament roster, then un-check the top 3 (or anyone else) before spinning. Winners can be automatically removed so nobody wins twice.
Is it available in Chinese?
Yes. The language toggle in the top-right switches every screen between English and Traditional Chinese (繁體中文).
Does it track or share my tournament data?
No. Tournament data never leaves your browser. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I use it offline?
Once the page has loaded, the core app runs entirely client-side and continues to function if your connection drops. External libraries (confetti, screenshot) require the page to have loaded successfully first.
How many players / tables can it handle?
Tested comfortably up to several dozen players. Compact mode is designed to display up to 16 tables on one fullscreen browser window.
Is it affiliated with any game publisher?
No. This is an independent, fan-made tournament tool. It is not produced, endorsed, sponsored, or licensed by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., or any other publisher. See our Legal Notice for the full statement.
