How to Run a Riftbound Swiss Tournament

Six steps from zero to trophy — about 5 minutes of setup.

  1. Create the event — open the app, start a new tournament, and pick your format (Bo1 by default, with an optional Bo3 toggle).
  2. Registration & draw — paste your player list for on-site entry, or share the built-in signup page for online registration with an optional cap; odd player counts get an automatic bye.
  3. QR check-in — display a QR code at the venue; players scan to check in while you watch attendance update in real time.
  4. One-tap start — the system generates Swiss pairings automatically (3-1-0 match points, OWP tie-breaks) and starts a room-synced timer.
  5. Players self-report — players tap their own match result on the spectator page and pass the phone to their opponent for confirmation, so the organizer barely enters a score.
  6. Cut & poster — after the Swiss rounds, cut to a top 8 or top 16 knockout in one tap, then export standings cards and an IG event poster.

Riftbound In-Game Score Tracker (/score/)

The /score/ tracker handles points and XP for both players (long-press for rapid repeat), with built-in dice, a per-game log (last 100 entries) and undo. Its signature feature is the 180° opponent view: lay the phone in the middle of the table and each player reads their own side upright — one board, both players. A floating score widget also follows players on the self-report page (/view/) so they can report results without losing track of the game score.

Deck-List Legality Checks

Validated on submission, locked at start, quick to review.

When a player submits a list, the system automatically checks construction rules (e.g. 40 cards in the main deck) and bounces non-compliant lists back for fixes on the spot. Lists go through the TopCut platform via pid, and a snapshot is locked the moment the tournament starts — nobody can edit mid-event. Judges get a quick-review view of every list. 322 cards are covered with Traditional Chinese names, so Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan players can register in their own language.
